Welcome to our new “Get to Know Advanced RPO” series!  Want to know what makes Advanced RPO special? It’s our people, and you’ll get to meet them, one at a time.

 

Today let’s meet Jenna Hinrichsen. Jenna has nearly 20 years of recruiting experience with many of those years in a strategic role. Let’s hear what Jenna has to say about recruitment and working for Advanced RPO.

 

What’s wonderful about working for Advanced RPO?  

The environment is family-oriented and supportive, and you really have an opportunity to make an impact and help shape the future of the business and the industry.

 

What do you enjoy about recruiting? What drew you to this field?   

I love the art of matching people to companies and jobs. It truly is an art. When I was looking for my first professional job, I met with a staffing firm, which happens to be the Advanced Group – the company I work for today, and I was so impressed with the entire process. I felt so welcomed by everyone I met with and I knew they had my best interest at heart. I wanted to be part of their team and fortunately, the feeling was mutual.

 

What do you think makes an exceptional RPO recruiter? 

Coming from a background of staffing, corporate recruiting and now RPO, I believe that a good recruiter who is passionate about the trade, and prioritizes candidate & customer experience high, can be successful in and adapt to any recruiting environment. Sure, the model and services provided are different within each branch of recruiting, and there’s a learning curve with each, but the foundation is the same… clients and candidates first.

 

How do you see the recruitment marketplace changing right now? What do you think is one of the most important trends in recruiting? 

It’s all about technology. That said, the technology is only as good as the people driving and managing it. It’s not about more technology and less people, it’s about people using more technology to become more efficient, improve candidate and client experience, and increase overall impact.

 

What advice do you have for anyone who is looking for a new job? 

Do your research! Apply to and pursue jobs that you’re truly passionate about, and companies that align with your long-term growth plan. Pull out all the stops in the interview process – be early, send thank-you notes, follow up to reiterate your interest in the job and WHY/HOW you would be an asset to the company. And don’t get discouraged – put in the work and keep pushing forward until you end up where you want to be. It’s a journey – welcome the experience and learn from the process.

 

Why would someone want to work with Advanced RPO? 

We genuinely care. Sure, we’re a business and we provide a service and have revenue goals like any other business, but the people who work for Advanced RPO truly prioritize what’s best for our clients and candidates, in all situations. It’s not about us, it’s about them.  Our clients and candidates are all equally important, whether it’s an entry level job, an executive level job, a small client or a large client. We are a partner, not a vendor.

 

Life is crazy.  What keeps you sane? How do you recharge? 

I’m a certified personal trainer and passionate about health and fitness, so when I’m not working, you can usually find me blowing off steam in the gym or on hiking trail somewhere!
